In this project, we built a Motion-Activated Automatic Sliding Window using an Arduino Uno, a PIR motion sensor, and a micro servo motor with a rack-and-pinion sliding mechanism.
When motion is detected in front of the PIR sensor, the Arduino triggers the servo motor to rotate the pinion gear, sliding open both window panels automatically. Once the motion clears, the mechanism automatically closes the window after a short delay.

Arduino Uno R3
PIR Motion Sensor (HC-SR501)
Micro Servo Motor (SG90)
Rack and Pinion Sliding Track Mechanism
Breadboard & Jumper Wires
MDF / Laser-cut Wood Chassis
Push Button & Indicator LEDs
How It Works:
Detection: The PIR sensor monitors motion within its range.
Signal: Upon detection, an output signal is sent to the Arduino.
Movement: The Arduino rotates the servo motor, driving the rack to slide open the window panels.
Auto-Reset: After a set duration with no movement, the servo reverses, sliding the window back into a closed position.
