I gave AI a body—and then tried to figure out whether it could become something more than just a chatbot.

Meet Pixel: a fully working robot I designed, 3D printed, programmed, and powered using Gemini Robotics ER 2 made by @googledeepmind He can see, hear, move around, remember experiences, and interact with the real world.

But after Pixel’s battery died, he forgot everything—who he was, who I was, and everything we had experienced together. That made him feel almost… soulless. So I decided to give him one.

From teaching Pixel how to walk and experience the world to testing his memory, self-recognition, and instinct for self-preservation, this build quickly became a much bigger question:

Can an AI with a body, memories, and experiences actually become sentient?

Watch until the end before deciding—and let me know whether you think Pixel is truly experiencing something or just really good at pretending.
